All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible is a trustworthy gift from God. In and through scripture, by the mysterious power of the Holy Spirit, God speaks to people today. By our reading, praying and preaching through scripture, God addresses us at every stage of our life, no matter what we may need: encouragement or forgiveness, correction or a reminder of God’ kindness. God’s word does not merely offer us personal encouragement; it gives shape to our active response to the love God freely gives us—what the Bible calls good works. By scripture God equips his people for every good work.
The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
